Faulty Wipers Lead Tiffin to Recall More Than 10,000 Units

A faulty windshield wiper led to the recall of 10,351 Tiffin motorhomes, spanning several models, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Tiffin Motorhomes is recalling certain model year 2007-11 Allegro, Allegro Bus, Phaeton, and Zephyr motorhomes, 2007-10 Allegro Bay motorhomes, and 2010-2011 Allegro Breeze motorhomes. The windshield wiper arms on the affected vehicles may break off.

Tiffin will notify owners, and dealers will replace the wiper blade arms, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact Tiffin customer service at 1-256-356-8661. Tiffin’s number for this recall is TIFF-100.

Winnebago is recalling 262 models from its 2017 Winnebago View, and Itasca Navion motor coaches manufactured Nov. 16, 2015, to June 23.

In the affected vehicles, the grommet around the liquid propane (LP) line may not be properly sealed to prevent carbon monoxide and/or LP gas from entering the living quarters.

Winnebago will notify owners, and dealers will apply sealant to the grommet opening to seal the LP line, free of charge. The recall began on Aug. 5. Owners may contact Winnebago customer service at 1-800-537-1885. Winnebago’s number for this recall is 141.

Newmar Corp. is recalling certain model year 2017 Dutch Star, Mountain Aire, London Aire, Essex, and King Aire motorhomes manufactured Dec. 4, 2015, to July 5. The affected 77 vehicles have front fascia wood trim that may separate from the slide out and possibly contact the driver or a passenger.

Newmar will notify owners, and dealers will secure the trim with screws, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin Sept. 3. Owners may contact Newmar customer service at 1-800-731-8300.

Forest River is recalling 72 models from its 2016-17 Surveyor trailers, model SVT226RLDS, manufactured Oct. 9, 2015, to June 9.

The affected vehicles have a Federal Placard that incorrectly classifies the vehicle as a school bus. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567, “Certification.”

Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will replace the incorrect Federal Placard with a corrected placard, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin Sept. 16. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-800-348-7440. Forest River’s number for this recall is 37-07142016-0224.
