Girl Camper Membership Program Surpasses 2,100 Members

Girl Camper, one of the largest women’s camping communities in the United States, has surpassed 2,100 paid members less than a year after launching its membership program in October 2025, signaling a growing demand for community-driven outdoor experiences among women over 40.

Founded on the belief that “there is no wrong way to camp like a girl,” Girl Camper has evolved into a powerful lifestyle and media brand that connects women through camping, RV travel, outdoor adventure, education and friendship. The organization said it reaches its audience through in-person events, a digital magazine, podcast, social media platforms and online community spaces designed to help women feel confident getting outdoors.

“Our members aren’t just joining for camping tips,” said Lesa McDermott, vice president of Girl Camper. “They’re joining because they’re looking for connection, shared experiences and a community that welcomes them exactly where they are. Whether someone camps in a luxury RV, a teardrop trailer, a tent or the back of their SUV, they belong here.”

The rapid growth of the membership program reflects broader trends within both the RV industry and consumer culture. As more consumers seek meaningful experiences and authentic communities, Girl Camper has positioned itself as a trusted voice for women entering or expanding their outdoor lifestyle journey, Girl Camper said.

Girl Camper members primarily consist of women over 40 with disposable income who are actively investing in travel, outdoor recreation, RVing, gear, and experience-based lifestyles. Many members are solo travelers, empty nesters, retirees, remote workers or women rediscovering adventure later in life.

The organization hosts hundreds of events annually through its nationwide network of volunteer guides and local communities. Events range from beginner-friendly campouts and lunch meetups to kayaking trips, backpacking adventures, road rallies, and RV travel experiences.

  • The Girl Camper Podcast
  • The digital Girl Camper Magazine
  • Educational and lifestyle video content
  • Active Facebook communities and social media engagement
  • Partnerships with leading brands in the RV and outdoor industries

Girl Camper has also partnered with companies including The Dyrt and RV Overnights to provide additional membership benefits and resources that enhance the camping and RV travel experience for its members, the organization said.

As the outdoor and RV industries continue seeking ways to connect with women consumers, Girl Camper’s growth demonstrates the increasing influence of women-led communities in shaping purchasing decisions, travel trends and outdoor participation.

“Women are one of the fastest-growing segments in camping and RV travel,” McDermott added. “What we’re seeing is that products matter, but community matters just as much. Women want experiences they can share with others. They want confidence, belonging and inspiration. That’s where Girl Camper fits in.”

Girl Camper said continues to expand partnerships with RV manufacturers, tourism organizations, campground groups and outdoor brands seeking authentic engagement with women travelers and campers.
