The Hoosier State Drops in Business Ranking

Indiana has slipped slightly in a national business climate ranking. CNBC’s annual “America’s Top States For Business” list rates the Hoosier State 16th, down from 14th last year. The rankings are determined by more than 60 metrics that measure competitiveness, which are broken down into 10 categories: overall, workforce, infrastructure, cost of doing business, economy, quality of life, technology and innovation, education, business friendliness, access to capital and cost of living.

This story by Dan McGowan originally appeared in Inside Indiana Business.

Indiana was ranked on the higher end of categories including infrastructure (2nd), cost of doing business (5th) and business friendliness (4th) and the lower end for workforce and quality of life.

In 2016, Indiana was also 16th-ranked overall. You can connect to the full list by clicking here.
