Jayco Unveils New Solar Power System
Jayco launched its new Overlander EXT Modular Power Management package, which the company said sets the standard for factory installed systems. The original Overlander II package was launched by Jayco as an option for model year 2021, and the new Overlander EXT package is a considerable step up in power, components and flexibility.
The package will be offered as an option on the 2022 Jayco North Point and Pinnacle fifth wheels and the Jayco Seismic and Seismic Alpha toy haulers. The new Overlander EXT features 6 Renogy 200-Watt Monocrystalline Solar Panels (1200-watts total), 6-12V 100AH Lithium-Iron Phosphate Batteries (600AH, 7.2kWh of Stored Power), 3000-watt Pure Sine Wave Inverter Charger with 50-amp Bypass, 100-amp Charge Controller and a 600-amp Battery Monitor.
The Overlander EXT package offers some additional features such as:
- Factory installed and backed by a two-year warranty
- Increased efficiency from a Turbo Air 2 12-Volt 13.5K BTU Air Conditioner
- Internally heated batteries to allow for extreme cold weather operation
- Generator option for an additional modular power source
- Lower cost than aftermarket installation
- Easily accessible components
The Overlander EXT Package was developed by a team at Jayco in conjunction with Renogy and Dehco Electronics. The Overlander EXT Modular Power Management Package will be on display at the Hershey RV Show on Sept. 15 –19 in booth A9, and in the Jayco display at the Elkhart Dealer Open House event on Sept. 27 – 29.
“We set out to provide the ultimate power experience for our customers and I believe we have succeeded. This has been a true team effort to bring this system to market,” said Mike Aplin, director of product development of luxury fifth wheels.
In addition, all Jayco travel trailers, fifth wheels and toy haulers now come either equipped with optional solar packages or solar prep.
