ORVA Outlines 2016 Oklahoma State Convention

The Oklahoma RV Association will hold its 2016 State Convention on June 26 to 28 at the Osage Casino Hotel in Skiatook, Okla.

The Association reported in a news release that this year’s convention would feature a strong slate of speakers designed to bring ORVA members all the latest news and updates in the industry along with new learning opportunities for their businesses.

The theme for the convention is “Powering Growth”, and will include leaders in the RV industry, outlining the opportunities that lie ahead for dealers who are prepared to take their dealership to the next level, according to the release. Attendees also will receive a special “Powering Growth” package provided by Diversified Insurance Management to motivate their plans for 2017.

The convention opens with a member golf tournament, followed by a welcome reception at the Osage Casino Hotel. On June 27, the educational segment of the convention, which will address current affairs and changes affecting the RV industry, begins.

Industry presenters in this segment include Rebecca Chernek, Phil Ingrassia, Jay Landers, Tom Walworth, Leo Akins and Sheril Vergara.

Chernek will present twice, the first “Meeting the Customer on Their Terms” and the second “Addressing Customer Concerns” are both F&I presentations that will help our dealers F&I profit centers.

Attendees also will hear from Bodine Balasco, a nationally recognized speaker and entertainer on Monday, who is sure to supercharge them with his presentation titled “Capturing the Heart of Your Customer”. Bodine also will be the keynote speaker on Tuesday morning before the annual board meeting with a presentation titled “Putting People First”.

Also, due to addressing legislative issues from the past year, Oklahoma state Senate Bill 868 was successfully killed, and a follow-up panel discussion will take place on Monday for the group as presented be Roy Dockum, executive director of Oklahoma Motor Vehicle Commission, Jay Landers, RVIA Government Affairs and Phil Ingrassia, president, RVDA.

In addition, a special guest speaker, Sen. Dan Newberry, Oklahoma State senator and chairman of Business and Commerce Committee will talk about the proper role of government and regulatory agencies. Newberry also will attend the dealer’s luncheon for an opportunity to meet and greet dealers.

On Monday evening, after a cocktail reception which will feature the culmination of a special donor silent auction and 50/50 money match campaign to raise funds for the dealer association, the President’s Banquet Gala will take place. This will then be followed by Balasco presenting special entertainment.
