RV Caucus Event Highlights Key Legislative Priorities

Last week, on Wednesday, Aug. 19, the RV Industry Association (RVIA)’s Government Affairs team elevated the industry’s policy objectives at an RV Caucus event on Capitol Hill. Over 100 Hill staff attended.

The recent RV Caucus event focused on building new connections and educating attendees on the RV sector’s legislative focus areas. With Congress away on recess, attendees remarked the gathering was “the only event in town,” RVIA said. While Capitol Hill is quiet, the team’s federal and state advocacy work moves forward, carrying momentum from June’s Advocacy Day on these key priorities:

  • Reauthorization of the Legacy Restoration Fund, which would secure the necessary funds to continue modernizing and improving campgrounds and outdoor recreation infrastructure across the country.
  • Passage of the No Tax on RV Loans legislation, which was introduced in May by Congressman Rudy Yakym (R-IN-02) and Congresswoman Dina Titus (D-NV-01) and would allow consumers to deduct up to $10,000 in interest.

Vice President of Government Affairs Jason Rano spoke during the event to highlight the RV industry’s economic impact, priority legislation, and the importance of the RV Caucus.

The House and Senate RV Caucuses champion the RV industry on Capitol Hill by advocating on behalf of the industry on issues such as campground modernization and tax and trade issues.

The RV Industry Association provides the House and Senate RV Caucuses opportunities for Senators, Representatives, and their staff to learn more about the vital role RVs play in the outdoor recreation and travel industries through industry information, news stories, and briefings, as well as education events.

A second RV Caucus event is scheduled for December.
