Registration is underway for the 2020 MBA Insurance RV Rental School featuring new curriculum Feb. 25-27 at the Tuscany Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

“Our instructors listened to past attendees and decided to rewrite, touch up and polish the material to give participants not only the tried-and-true basic information essential for a successful rental operation, but also explore new and creative ways to grow an RV rental business,” said Bert Alanko, president of MBA Insurance.

In developing the new curriculum, the staff researched current camping habits and examined dynamic industry changes impacting the RV rental market. As a result, several new topics have been added to the course, including:

  • How to use a handful of key performance indicators to see immediate improvement on reservations, profitability and other critical figures.
  • Breakout sessions that are run more like workshops than classrooms in which participants learn to leverage profit and loss reports.
  • Creating RV rental business plans for start-up operations.
  • Identifying specific floorplans that rent and resell.
  • How to gracefully handle damaged RVs.
  • Capitalizing on off-season rental opportunities.
  • Understanding the dos and don’ts of peer-to-peer rental and how to work with them to ensure success.

“If you haven’t attended the MBA RV Rental School in a few years, you might be surprised at the changes,” said Alanko. “The smaller, more interactive sessions are suited to the specific needs of owners and managers of RV rental fleets. … We will also explore new ideas to keep customers, rent more stuff and beat any competitor.”

Instructors for the 2020 MBA RV Rental School are:

  • Martin Onken, with Expedition Motor Homes
  • Barry Raye from 84 RV Rentals
  • Scott Krenek, owner of Krenek RV Super Center

“There’s so much good stuff that the last hour of the last day will be just as crazy good as the first hour of the first day,” said Onken. “In fact, here’s my guarantee: You will walk away with at least three great ideas that you can implement right away to improve your business. … If not, I will give you three personalized consulting hours of my time to help you.”

Sponsored by MBA Insurance, the three-day seminar is designed to fast track people interested in opening an RV rental business, or to strengthen existing rental firms.

The cost to attend the training is $795 for the first person registered from any organization, and $695 for each additional person from that company. The fee does not include airfare, hotel costs or ground transportation. However, the fee includes breakfast and lunch each day, plus a reception the first night.

Hotel reservations can be made at a discounted rate of $69 per night by calling Tuscany Suites & Casino at 877-887-2260 and using the group code 0220MBAI. The discounted rate expires on Feb. 14.

“This conference has sold out every year for the past seven years,” said Alanko. “Because interest in the RV rental business remains high, I’d encourage people to register today. In order to maintain the intimacy that makes the conference so effective, we must limit attendance to 75 people.”

This year’s rental school is sponsored by American Modern, Forest River, Coachmen, Thor Motor Coach, Auto Club of America, Equalizer Hitch and Al3rt GPS.
