Black Book is reporting that the average selling price for motorized units was $49,211, which is up $674 (1.3 percent) from the previous month. Towables came in at $12,585, down $2,006 (13.7 percent) from last month.
One year ago, the average motorhome sold for $38,206, and the average towable unit brought $13,129.
“For the first time in several months, the values of motorized units and towables have moved in different directions,” said Eric Lawrence, director of speacialty markets. “Motorhomes notched their fifth consecutive increase, while towables declined quite a bit, although they are right about where they should be if you factor in seasonality. The volume of all units sold at wholesale auction was down significantly, which is normal for this time of year, as many dealers are beginning to ‘settle in’ for the winter.”
Auction volume was lower this month: motorized dropped 30 percent and towables fell 25 percent.
