The RV Women’s Alliance (RVWA) shared on LinkedIn that is has opened registration for its Women’s RV Systems classes, led by Master-certified RV Technical Institute (RVTI) technician Jessica Rider, with new sessions starting in November.

“Any female RVWA member who is interested in enhancing their knowledge of RV systems and better their skillset for increased job performance in parts, warranty, tech/customer service, etc. is encouraged to apply,” the alliance said on its website.

“With 72 million Americans planning to take an RV trip in the next year, there’s more demand and opportunity for those skilled in RV Systems knowledge than ever before. Our hands-on training and instruction with RVTI-certified curriculum provides the experience and expertise needed to succeed in this exciting industry with manufacturers, suppliers, campgrounds, dealerships and repair shops nationwide.”

  • Hybrid classes will have five weeks of online coursework followed by one in-person week to go through lab work and conduct testing. In-person classes will be held M-F from 5-9 p.m. each day at RVTI in Elkhart, Indiana.
  • Participants will need to pass final written and performance exams to gain RVTI technician certification.
  • Class fee is $330* which includes: Level 1 Class, hybrid or fully in-person; textbooks; and first attempt testing and certification. *Level 2 Class will incur additional $330 fee and any additional testing requires $85 charge

“With 80% of the RV buying decisions being conducted by women, it is important for them to also find other women within industry sectors throughout the buying process. This certification is good for life and will allow recipients to better understand customer dilemmas, increase their knowledge of RV components and prepare an RV for customer delivery by verifying the operation of all systems,” RVWA said.

The RV Women’s Alliance noted that funding is available through its Bill Stewart Memorial Scholarship to help offset the cost of the courses. Scholarship applications are due by Oct. 31.

The Women’s RV Systems classes are part of the RV Women’s Alliance’s broader effort to expand technical education opportunities within the industry, giving participants direct instruction from an RVTI Master-certified technician.

Interested applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible to secure a spot in the November class and to meet the scholarship application deadline.
