Storage Center Suffers $500K in Tornado Damage

People are still picking up the pieces after Friday’s tornado tore through parts of El Paso County in Colorado.

This story by Dan Beedie originally appeared on KRDO.

Owners of Falcon Storage Center are just beginning to wrap their heads around the damage. They say damages to property owners who leave trailers, boats, RVs on the property will cost hundreds of thousands of dollars.

“Judging from our surveillance there was about two minutes of tornado on our property,” said Julie Bagley, the manager of Falcon Storage Center.

The business has surveillance footage from Friday’s storms showing RVs being thrown around the property like toys.

“I know one trailer that got flipped is a good 5,000 to 6,000 pounds,” said Bagley.

Now that the storm has passed, and winds have died down, the priority for Falcon Storage Center has become the RV and boat owners.

“I would say damage costs are definitely upwards to at least about at least half a million in property damages to our customers here individually at least up to one hundred thousand dollars in fencing and damage to the property and owners here,” said Bagley.

Falcon storage center urges people to come check out their property as soon as possible.
