Suspect of Fatal Stabbing Arrested

Police on Tuesday night arrested a suspect in the fatal stabbing that took place at Patrick Metals, a Mishawaka, Ind., business, earlier in the day.

Tommy Love, 34, of South Bend, was booked into the St. Joseph County Jail on the preliminary charge of voluntary manslaughter. The victim has been identified as 37-year-old Aaron Woods Jr., of South Bend.

Police on Tuesday were first called to Patrick Metals, 5020 Lincolnway East, at 11:37 a.m. on report of a stabbing. Love and Woods were both employees of the company.

Another employee, Ronald Haney, was in the break room eating lunch when the victim stumbled in covered in blood. Haney called 911 and tried to give aid to the man, but he soon died of his injuries.

Haney said he was shocked when he found out who it was. He thought the victim and the suspect were friends and Haney did not know of any fighting between the two. All the employees of Patrick Metals were released for the rest of the day.

Patrick Metals, which move to its current Mishawaka location from Elkhart in 1986, produces aluminum extrusions for a verity of industries, according to its website.
