RVeterans: Eric Sharp

As general manager of East to West with Forest River, Eric Sharp monitors all business aspects, including production, purchasing, sales and warranty. He’s done an amazing job making sure East to West products are of the highest quality.

These achievements make him deserving of RV PRO’s industry veteran title, but it’s his willingness to coach and share his 40 years of management experience with anyone who’s willing to listen that will secure a successful future for the industry.

Eric mentors others, sharing his vast knowledge of the RV business and the many connections he has developed over the years. His drive pushes others to take pride in what they do and to always do their best. Employees say, “The team here at East to West knows we can always go to the ‘General’ for advice.”

East to West team members say Eric has never let his success get to his head and stays grounded, putting his family first. They say he tells them his greatest accomplishment is being a grandfather.

Employees also share that Eric never loses sight of the main goal, which is to give the best product to East to West customers, and he makes sure his employees remember it, too. He is famous for telling employees, “We started this company to be different and to raise the bar. We have, but we are not done yet.”

Eric reports his greatest memories of the four decades he has spent in the industry center on the great people he has met and worked with.

“The industry has changed so much since I first started over 40 years ago! I think we will continue to see improvements being made in the product, with quality being of primary importance,” he says.
