FRVA ‘RV Beach Party’ Heading to Georgia

Family RV Association announced it will bring the spirit of the tropics to the Peach State. From March 18-21, the Cincinnati-based RV owners club will host its “Changes In Latitudes – RV Beach Party” International Convention at the Georgia National Fairgrounds & Agricenter, located in Perry, Georgia. This marks FRVA’s 112nd international rally.

All recreational vehicle owners — FRVA members and others — are welcome to attend, the association said. The convention also presents a wealth of opportunities for anyone curious about RVs and the RV lifestyle.

Convention Highlights

Patrice and Kevin McCabe, stars of the “RV There Yet?” travel series on the Discovery Channel, will be on hand throughout the week to showcase products, present RV lifestyle seminars and host a geocaching scavenger hunt. They’ll also be seen throughout the grounds participating in various convention activities.

The RV Expo will fill the Miller-Murphy-Howard and Georgia Grown buildings with RV-related displays: components, services and lifestyle products, tour operators, resorts and more. Outdoors, additional exhibits will feature motorhomes, towable RVs and other products.

More than 100 seminars will teach attendees the ins and outs of RV operation, maintenance, travel and technology. These include a docket of sessions in the FRVA Learning Zone, where discussions will center on such RV-essential topics as tires, batteries, AC and DC power, sourcing parts and service, fire safety and internet access on the road. In addition, hobbyists can sign up for 20-plus make-and-take crafts sessions.

Live entertainment will add to the beach vibe. Featured entertainers include Hotel California — The Original Eagles Tribute Band, A1A — The Official and Original Jimmy Buffett Tribute Show, and Kazual, an a cappella quartet. Other acts are scheduled throughout the week.

On Thursday, March 19, convention attendees and city residents are invited to a special Party In Perry at the old City Hall building in Historic Downtown Perry. This outdoor get-together, weather permitting, will feature the Party Knights band performing a setlist of music spanning genres and eras.

Attendance Options

Attendees can camp on-site in their RVs and take in all convention activities for $295 (electric extra). Those who wish to enjoy the entire event without an RV can purchase a “full passport” for $245 (two people; no overnight camping). A one-day “passport” is also available for $50 per person. Daily RV Expo admission is $10 per person/$25 per family of three or more. Children 12 and under are free with an adult; admission is also free to holders of an active military ID.
