Lippert Components Holds First-Ever Volunteer Week
Elkhart, Ind.-based Lippert Components hosts its first-ever LCI Volunteer Week July 12-18. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the company decided to host a week-long array of socially-distanced community service activities to display its unwavering commitment to serving surrounding communities and making a lasting, positive impact.
Volunteer work is one of the most significant components of the LCI culture. Since launching the company’s volunteer initiative in 2017, team members have volunteered more than 350,000 hours in various community service efforts and events. With its “Social Impact Philosophy” prioritizing people and placing the community at its core, service has become a large part of LCI’s identity and reputation. And though the pandemic has changed the way the service can be conducted, it has not hindered the company from following through with its commitment to serving the community whatsoever.
“LCI is doing some incredible things within the many communities that our 10,000 team members call home,” said Michilah Grimes, LCI director of corporate and community impact. “We’ve dedicated ourselves to volunteerism. It’s amazing, and humbling, to experience the significant changes in our team members’ morale and improvements within our communities as we continue to carry out our charitable outreach.”
During the Volunteer Week, a company-wide pack-out will take place where 50,000 much-needed items will be packed and donated to seven local nonprofits. LCI team members will have two ways to participate: by volunteering time to pack boxes, or by making monetary donations that will help purchase the items needed for the pack-out. A number of at-home volunteer opportunities that team members and their families can engage in will also be available.
LCI has teamed up with familiar partner Welch Packaging to help make this happen. Welch is no stranger to community service either, as the company has a long history of giving back to the community and acknowledging the importance of helping make a difference. Welch joined Lippert in 2018 in the Acts of Service volunteer initiative, and to show its support this year, the company donated the boxes for the pack-out to Lippert as a demonstration of its identical dedication to providing assistance and helping out where needed.
“Welch Packaging is honored to support Lippert and the local community through their efforts in coordinating the food drive,” said Brock Welch, Welch Packaging general manager. “During this unprecedented time with the COVID-19 pandemic, true community leaders rise, and Lippert (once again) has stepped up to drive local support for our community. We are pleased to be able to participate and live out our vision of making A difference!”
