The RV One Superstore in Tampa, Fla., reached out to Utah company Big Statues to commission a bronze statue of the creator of Airway travel trailers, Wally Byam.
Byam grew up camping, experiencing the joy of traveling, according to RV One Superstore. He envisioned helping others experience the open roads, the outdoors, and the freedom they provide. He began to create the now-famous airstream trailers; rapidly growing his new-found business. The increasingly popular mobile lifestyle was met perfectly with Byam’s design.
His attention to detail and quality pulled the company through difficult economic times and left a legacy that is still alive today.
The RV One Superstore reached out to Big Statues to create a memorial, honoring the creative mind that changed how travel trailers were made. The life-size statue of Byam stands in its Tampa dealership.
