Forest River Riverstone to Feature Vixen Composite Slide Subflooring
Composite slide subflooring by Vixen Composites, an AIRXCEL brand, will be featured on all Riverstone and Riverstone Reserve Series fifth wheels by Forest River, the company said today.
Composite panel subflooring performs well in these applications for long-term durability and usability. Vixen Composites created custom composite slide out panels for Forest River to withstand the rigorous movement and exposed nature of RV slide outs. The panels have water-resistant properties that eliminate rot and allow superior adhesion, the company said. Compared to wood products, composite panels are more lightweight, which give the vehicle more cargo-carrying capacity, better fuel efficiency and easier towability, according to the company. The panels have a seamless design with a beveled edge.
Vixen’s composite panels are manufactured at Vixen’s Elkhart, Indiana facility.
“We’re ideally located near our OEM partners in Indiana, which gives Vixen the ability to prioritize those relationships and ensure product availability without international supply chain worry,” said Marc Brunner, general manager.
“Forest River chose Vixen as a trusted partner because of their quality in craftsmanship,” said Curtis Gunter of Forest River. “Riverstone has a continued desire to find better building materials that are more sustainable and all-around better materials; the composite slide floor is just one step of many in the right direction.”
