Truma Partners With Dealerships for Eclipse Watch Parties
Truma North America is partnering with RV dealerships across the country to host Eclipse Watch Parties on Monday, April 8.
According to astronomy.com, the upcoming total solar eclipse will be the most significant eclipse to cross North America in the last 100 years. It will pass over a large part of the United States and millions of Americans are planning to head to locations along the “path of totality.” According to a recent survey from Cairn Consulting, 29% of all leisure travelers, representing 22.6 million households and 56.4 million individuals, are planning to travel to view the eclipse. Of those people planning to travel to view the eclipse, 14.1 million of them are planning to travel or stay in an RV for this rare event, reported the RV Industry Association (RVIA).
Compared to the last North American total eclipse, which took place in 2017, the April 8 event will cover a wider, most populated geographic area of the country with a longer duration of totality. The North American continent will not see another total eclipse of this magnitude until 2044.
“We understand that campgrounds across the country are seeing an increase in reservations for the days leading up to and after the eclipse,” said Truma Vice President of Sales and Marketing Tim Williams. “Since a key part of our mission is to help RV owners create unforgettable memories outdoors, it made sense that we celebrate this significant event, and it gives us a chance to highlight some of our dealer partners.”
Truma will be co-hosting eclipse watch parties at the following dealership locations. Attendees at each location will enjoy light refreshments, Truma Eclipse viewing glasses and will have the opportunity to win a C30 30-liter Truma Cooler Portable Fridge/Freezer at the following locations:
- Iron Horse RV Specialists in San Antonio, Texas
- Moix RV Supercenter in Conway, Arkansas
- Sullivan RV Center in Decatur, Indiana
- Craig Smith RV in Galion, Ohio
Truma will also be supporting an eclipse viewing event hosted by its manufacturing partner Panoramic RV in Montreal, Quebec.
The festivities will begin at noon local time on April 8. Iron Horse RV will be the first location to experience the eclipse at 1:33 p.m. CDT. For location-specific details, follow Truma’s dealer partners on Facebook or click here.
