Indian Skies RV Resort Donates to Local Arizona Charities
Indian Skies RV Resort has donated about $12,400 to select local charities that support youth organizations, veterans and families in Coolidge, Arizona.
The annual event was held March 21 at the RV resort. Coolidge Mayor Jon Thompson and Chamber of Commerce members were invited to attend the ceremony.
The RV resort started donating to charities over 30 years ago, collecting tin cans for youth funds. They’ve raised and donated over $30,000 to charities. It’s believed that since 2014 they’ve donated to four charities: Disabled American Veterans, Head Start, Hope Women’s Center and Kids Camp.
Charities were chosen based on need. Funds are raised in a variety of ways throughout the season, such as bake sales and fifty-fifty drawings.
In November and February, they raised around $1,600 and donated it to the Coolidge Unified School District to help kids attend field trips.
The RV resort’s board wanted to give back to their community that they enjoy living in.
“It makes us feel good and I personally kind of feel like I would rather give than receive,” said Tonya Anderchuk, community manager. “I like to help other people. I know that it’s important and to help others means that we’re giving what they need and they’re not struggling.”
