Airstream announced on Friday steps the company is taking to mitigate damage caused by a severe storm on March 14.

The storm moved through western central Ohio, causing damage to several communities near Airstream’s headquarters in Jackson Center, Ohio. During the weather event, Airstream’s facilities – including its 230,000-square-foot touring coach production facility – suffered damage, the extent of which is still being assessed, the company said. Airstream’s travel trailer and Basecamp production were not impacted. Due to storm damage, Airstream’s touring coach production was paused, but some partial touring coach production resumed on March 20.

“This storm impacted our entire community, and our first priority is ensuring the safety and well-being of our impacted associates,” said Bob Wheeler, Airstream president and CEO. “We ask our customers, owners and dealers for patience as we conduct repair work on our touring coach facility and resume a normal production schedule. The well-being of our team and partners is always at the forefront of our minds, and we’re doing everything we can to help reduce the impact on our associates, dealers and retail customers.”
