Black Book Sees Value Increase in Spring

Black Book recently reported that the average selling price for motorized RV units was $47,682, which is up $1,977 (4.3 percent) from the previous month. Towables came in at $13,655, up $354 (2.6 percent) from last month. One year ago, the average motor home sold for $38,845 and the average towable unit brought $13,235.

“RV values at auction, including all towable and motorized vehicle segments, increased last month,” said Eric Lawrence, director of specialty markets at Black Book. “This is what we had expected, as this is the time of year dealers in seasonal climates begin to restock their lots to be ready for the initial onslaught of customers lured in by warmer weather.  Note that auction volume has risen as well, as all facets of the vehicle remarketing network have begun to wake up after a long, cold winter.”

Auction volume is picking up: motorized increased 11 percent and towables rose 9 percent (see below).
