CURT Group’s Luverne and UWS Celebrate Anniversaries
CURT Group’s Luverne, a manufacturer of truck, commercial van and SUV accessories, is celebrating 55 years, as well as UWS which is celebrating nearly 40 years.
Luverne was founded by Bud Heck, Forest Jennings, and “Doc” Martin in Luverne, Minn., 20 miles from Sioux Falls, S.D. Luverne’s first product was a heavy-duty, painted steel bumper designed for pickup trucks in agricultural settings.
In the 1970s, its warehouse footprint and distribution network began to expand to Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Montana and Utah. It also added heavy-duty grille guards and running boards to its product line.
In 2016, Luverne joined the Wisconsin-based CURT Group family of brands, expanding its production capabilities.
Meanwhile, UWS has been manufacturing truck tool boxes and storage chests in the U.S. since 1981.
Some of the newest products UWS has released this year include a low-profile version of its truck side tool box and a Secure Lock under tonneau chest box. The low-profile side box is designed to match our low-profile crossover tool boxes and features a patented RigidCore foam-filled lid and extra-thick aluminum construction.
