RV Designer Launches ‘Refresh’ Post-Planogram Setup Effort
RV parts stores vary widely across the domestic U.S. aftermarket in terms of size, fixturing and sophistication. But shelf-space is viewed as precious, and worth every effort toward achieving “productive space” outcomes.

RV Designer, a recognized aftermarket leader in merchandising excellence, said it sees this as a responsibility and opportunity.
“In most retail markets, the supplier is required to ‘own’ that space from initial setup, through seasonal adjustments, inventory balancing etc. We call the post-setup effort ‘Refresh’. RVD takes this responsibility seriously,” saidys John Tinghitella, RVD president.
“We invested in planogramming software so our team can flex and adjust an assortment to meet regional needs. Bottom line here is that retail space must deliver dollars-per-square-foot, and NOT gather dust. In our newly upgraded Refresh Program, we take the lead. One year after setting up, we review POS sales data and make recommendations to the dealer such as: drop slow movers’, ‘relocate items’, ‘double face faster movers’, ‘add new items’, etc. And then we re-map it, providing a guided layout, so it makes easy re-set sense. To get this we unleash our not-so-secret weapon: The Derema Group. Derema’s team of 25 sales professionals cover the very spread-out dealer marketplace extremely well.”
“The goal is simple,” said Tinghitella. “We want every square foot of dealer space dedicated to RV Designer products to work harder. Refresh is not just about keeping a planogram looking good; it is about using actual sales data to continually improve the assortment, presentation and productivity of that space.”
By combining data-driven planogramming, ongoing assortment management and the nationwide reach of The Derema Group, RV Designer is taking a more active role in helping dealers maximize the value of their retail footprint. The result is a more flexible merchandising program designed to evolve with the business — and maximizes the productivity of the space.
