KOA Welcomes Shelby / Broad River KOA Holiday to KOA Family
Kampgrounds of America Inc. (KOA) announced the addition of the Shelby / Broad River KOA Holiday to its network of campgrounds, marking a significant milestone for the fast-growing destination in western North Carolina.
Since first opening the campground in 2022, owners George Selembo and Tyler Watts have quickly built a strong reputation for delivering a high-energy, amenity-rich camping experience designed to appeal to all types of campers. Now part of the KOA family of campgrounds, the Shelby / Broad River KOA Holiday is poised to reach a broader audience of travelers, while continuing to reflect the spirit and character of its local community, KOA said in a recent release.
Located in Mooresboro, North Carolina, near Shelby and the Broad River, the campground has quickly become known as a fun, family-friendly getaway with a personality all its own. With a growing lineup of activities, memorable on-site experiences and easy access to the charm of nearby small towns, the campground offers guests a unique way to experience this part of North Carolina, KOA said.
“We built this campground to be a place where all types of campers could come together, make memories and experience something truly special,” said George Selembo, co-owner of the Shelby / Broad River KOA Holiday. “Partnering with KOA allows us to bring national exposure to what we believe is one of the best little campgrounds in the Southeast, while continuing to invest in the guest experience and support the local community that has embraced us from day one.”
