The following was a News & Insights report from the RV Industry Association (RVIA).
Wednesday, May 8, the RV Industry Association (RVIA)’s Emerging Leaders Coalition hosted its third annual All-Industry Volunteer Day. Over 300 volunteers participated in the event, which took place at Chain O’Lakes State Park in Albion, Indiana. Volunteers spent the day cleaning up brush and invasive species, working on cabin flooring, constructing firewood enclosures, building and staining 40 park benches, power washing and cleaning park kayaks, staining fences, and painting comfort stations and bridges.
“We had such a fantastic turn out at our third annual all-industry volunteer day,” said Michilah Grimes, Lippert’s director of corporate and community impact. “We had great representation, including volunteers from more than 40 companies. It’s incredibly inspiring to see everyone coming together to make a difference at our local parks, giving the community the opportunity to fully enjoy their outdoor spaces. We couldn’t have done this without the generosity of our sponsors and thank them for their contributions to making this project successful. We’re just so thankful for everyone involved and look forward to the lasting impact this will have for years to come.”
The Coalition launched its annual volunteer project initiative in 2022 at Potato Creek State Park, following it up in 2023 at Ox Bow County Park. With more and more Americans turning to RVs as the ideal way to experience an active outdoor lifestyle, it remains critical to give parks the attention they need and deserve.
The RV Industry Emerging Leaders Coalition is designed to strengthen institutional industry collaboration and engagement by identifying, recruiting, and retaining emerging industry leaders and harnessing and elevating diverse emerging industry leader perspectives.
