Video: REI Spotlights ‘Boyz N The Wood’ in Film Series on Connection to Nature
A new short documentary in partnership with REI spotlighting “Boyz N The Wood: Resilience in the Redwoods,” directed by Faith Briggs Rose, follows a group of Black men stepping into the redwoods to reconnect with themselves, with each other and with the healing power of the natural world.
The film is about remembering what has always been true: nature has always been home — a place to gather, heal, breathe, belong and remember what makes us human. When Black men are supported, that care reaches far beyond the individual. Healing moves through families, friendships and communities, creating conditions for collective wellbeing.
The Our Nature Connection film series is a collaboration between The Redford Center and REI Cooperative Action Fund.
