Black Book Reports Motorized Selling Prices Down
Black Book recently reported that the average selling price for motorized RV units was $45,453 which is down $2,229 (4.6 percent) from the previous month. Towables came in at $13,519, down $136 (0.9 percent) from last month. One year ago, the average motorhome sold for $44,379 and the average towable unit brought $13,397.
Auction volume was mixed: motorized increased 13 percent and towables dropped 7 percent.
“RV values at auction, including most towable and motorized vehicle segments, decreased last month. This is not typical for this time of year, as most dealers are scrambling to stock their lots before the first customers come in,” said Eric Lawrence, director of specialty markets at Black Book. “However, normal Spring weather has been a little late arriving in many areas of the country, the upper Mid-West and New England have been especially hard hit, and it’s likely that normal buying patterns will return as the weather improves.”
