US Trade Rep Extends China Product Exclusions
On Dec. 26, the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) announced a further extension of all active Section 301 China product exclusions.
Originally set to expire on Dec. 31, 2023, the 429 exclusions will now remain in effect until May 31, 2024.
USTR is inviting public input on the potential additional extension of these specific exclusions for 30 days from Jan. 21 to Feb. 22. Comments can be submitted through the online comment portal available here.
Initially reinstated in March 2022, these 429 product exclusions have undergone two previous extensions, first to Sept. 30 and then to Dec. 31. The decision to prolong these exclusions is aimed at aligning them with USTR’s ongoing 4-Year Section 301 Review. Comments for this review process were initially solicited at the beginning of 2023.
For companies benefiting from these exclusions, active participation in the upcoming comment process is strongly recommended. For more information, reach out to Samantha Rocci (srocci@rvia.org).
