Dan Pearson, owner of PleasureLand RV Center, was recently honored with the 2018 Business Central Mark of Excellence: Entrepreneurial Success Award by the St. Cloud Chamber of Commerce, according to the St. Cloud Times.

The chamber’s 31st annual event celebrated the quality of local business leadership in central Minnesota.

PleasureLand was started in 1971 as part of Plaza Buick, which was owned by Dan Pearson’s father, Vern. Pearson said he started working at the dealership when he was just 11 years old, sweeping the floors and taking out the trash, according to the newspaper.

Pearson took over the dealership in 1982 with just 20 employees. Today the company is in the largest RV dealership in the Upper Midwest, with more than 200 employees at seven locations.

“The growth through the last 30-plus years has been absolutely incredible,” Pearson said, according to the newspaper. “But that’s not just one person, it’s a team. We usually get the stage as business owners, but it’s the team of people that make it work.”
