RV Caucus Gains a New Member

On April 3, Rep. Barbara Comstock (R-VA) visited RV Industry Association headquarters in Reston, Va.
She met with RVIA staff and did a Q&A, toured an RV, and met the government affairs and leadership teams to discuss the impact of the RV industry on the U.S. economy.
She also announced her intention to join the RV Caucus. Comstock is involved in several caucuses, tasks forces and committees; among them, the Committee on Transportation & Infrastructure and the Committee on Science, Space, and Technology. She is also chairwoman of the Subcommittee on Research and Technology.
Comstock highlighted several transportation initiatives, including the potential of enacting an infrastructure bill this year. The congresswoman was interested in following up on the idea of including a recreation title in the infrastructure bill. Her experience on the Research and Technology Subcommittee translates to an understanding of the need to modernize broadband infrastructure at national parks.
She also emphasized that while the desire to hit a home run on items like health care reform is there, it is more likely that a series of smaller reforms and repeals will take place to accomplish this goal and other legislative changes over time.
