Seismic, North Point & Pinnacle
Seismic toy haulers promise the comforts and conveniences of home no matter where the journey takes RVers. The 2021 lineup is designed to deliver more creature comforts and gadgets than ever before.
Jayco changed every Seismic floorplan to include a large front windshield with blackout shades. All but one has a front wardrobe and a king-size bed slide.
“The large window gives you the best of both worlds, you can look at the campsite while sitting inside watching TV or reading a book,” says Mike Aplin, general manager of luxury fifth wheels/toy hauler division. “The window adds a nice aesthetic to the outside.”
The Seismic units also offer a walk-in shower with real wood throughout to give it more of a spa feel.
“It’s something you’d see in high-end homes and luxury hotels,” Aplin says. “That started in the North Point and Pinnacle, and we added it to the Seismic in 2021.”
The North Point, Pinnacle, and Seismic also offer residential ovens with a four-burner cooktop and 3.7 cubic feet of oven space – deep enough to cook an oversize turkey or ham. All three units also offer temperature sensors inside refrigerators, which send alerts through JAYCOMMAND if the appliance loses temperature.
North Point made a walk-in shower standard on all floorplans in 2021.
“We had to redesign everything to make that standard on existing floorplans,” Aplin says.
“2021 could also be described as the year of the gadget,” he adds. “We built in a lot of nice features that are camper-friendly and based on customer and dealer feedback.”
In the North Point’s rear living rooms, Jayco installed shelves to set drinks on, and added storage underneath the trifold sofa. In the kitchen, there are pullout drawers under the sink that keep soaps and scrub brushes secure in transit. A 24-inch by 24-inch butcher block countertop extension that stores underneath the bed attaches to the kitchen island to extend the cooking surface.
Aplin says he expects the North Point’s freshwater drinking system to be a hit. This system works with a five-gallon container of purified drinking water purchased at the grocery store. “Instead of having to bring along bottled water, the freshwater drinking station operates on a switch near the sink. You flip the switch and have freshwater coming of the faucet by the sink,” he says. “The freshwater also goes to the ice maker in the fridge. There is a patent pending on our freshwater drinking system.”
The oversized window above the bed in the North Point gives the bedroom three windows instead of the traditional two. The bedroom also offers nightstands on either side of the bed with built-in cup holders. The nightstands also come prepped for CPAP machines, and there’s a built-in hamper in the wardrobe.
“The North Point offers a lot of things people would see in their homes,” Aplin says. “We are trying to bridge that gap.”
The Pinnacle is at the top of the Jayco towables mountain. In 2021, the combination of a new graphics package giving units a partial paint look in three colors and a new rear cap gives the fifth wheel the look of a high-end diesel motorhome.
“We put an exterior border of paint around the exterior opening of the rear cap where the window would be,” Aplin says. “From a distance, the window appears to be three to four times the size. We did the same between the side windows, making it look like there is an oversize rectangular window on each side.”
The Pinnacle comes in Modern Farmhouse design or in Silver Mist, which mixes gray tones with urban chocolate. Like the North Point, the Pinnacle kitchen offers drawer pullouts under the sink, a butcher block extension, and walk-in pantry. The unit has a walk-in shower, and the bedroom offers large windows over the headboard, a CPAP prep, and a built-in hamper.
Starcraft
In 2020, Jayco gave Starcraft units an interior décor overhaul that included new wood grains, countertops, flooring, and upholstery fabrics. The line also introduced the Autumn Ridge 32BHS bunkhouse unit and the Starcraft Super Light model, the 291QBH, a quad bunkhouse design.
Customers liked the changes – and it led Jayco to keep the Starcraft line largely status quo for 2021. Aaron Mortrud, product manager for the Starcraft line, reports the RV maker tweaked interior colors but made few other changes.
The Autumn Ridge is now available in Moonstone décor, which includes white cabinetry in bathrooms, vinyl flooring, and new wallboard. Jayco also added the 172FB and 26RLS floorplans to the single-axle trailer lineup.
The Starcraft Super Lite Travel Trailer also features a new décor option: Greystone. This color scheme puts gray cabinetry in kitchens and white cabinetry in bathrooms and includes a cherry entertainment center. The unit also offers new vinyl flooring, wallboard, and fascia. The manufacturer added the 291QB floorplan to the lineup.
The Starcraft Telluride received the same Greystone décor, flooring, wallboard, and fascia but does not have the cherry entertainment center. The Telluride added the 297BHS floorplan to its lineup.
Class A Motorhomes & Entegra Gas Products
The big change for Jayco’s motorized gas line is a result of the updated Ford chassis, according to Ryan Eash, director of development for the Jayco Motorhome Group. Anything built on the E450 platform and the F53 platform comes with a new 7.3-liter, V8 engine.
“This change will give them 350 horsepower and slightly more torque,” Eash says.
Jayco also added the Modern Farmhouse design to more models and added shiplap to accent walls and headboards.
“It’s a very modern-looking décor and this year we added it to our Redhawk lineup, which is our highest-volume Class C,” he says. Most floorplans also received swivel seats, which Eash says opens up the coach to allow more people to sit comfortably inside. “It makes the cab area more functional than it was before,” he says.
The Redhawk lineup has a new floorplan in 2021. Called the 26M, the model is the only Murphy bed model coach built on the F450 platform. The unit features an 80-inch dinette and a 50-inch TV with a 40-inch fireplace below it. A 30-inch by 36-inch shower and an outdoor kitchen with grill and refrigerator round out the 26M’s offerings.
The Seneca lineup offers the 37M floorplan. The coach has a full-wall slide on the passenger side and an opposing slide on the driver’s side.
“Adding opposing slides really opens up the living area,” Eash says. “It offers a king-size bed, a large bathroom in the middle, and a ton of kitchen space with a 21-cubic-foot residential refrigerator.”
All models received a design update to the rearview cameras, which now have a sleeker design, and some feature updated graphics and paint schemes.
All models in the Entegra gas lineup now offer the Modern Farmhouse design. The Odyssey will have a new floorplan called the 27U. The coach, which is less than 30 feet, offers a huge back wardrobe, a king-size bed, and a 30-inch by 36-inch shower. It will come with swivel seats and an opposing sofa and dinette.
The Odyssey and Esteem Class C offer swivel seats in most floorplans. The Jayco Melbourne Prestige is built on the Mercedes Sprinter chassis and comes standard with a 10.25-inch integrated touchscreen, a power driver and passenger heated seats.
Entegra Coach Luxury Diesel Products
People like the idea of a diesel motorhome but are often afraid to drive them, according to Pat Carroll, vice president of product development with Jayco Motorhome Group. With the 2021 model year, Jayco aims to take that fear away.
Carroll, who oversees Jayco Embark Class A diesel motorhomes and Entegra Class A and Class C diesel motorhomes, says added safety tops changes for the 2021 model year. In 2020, Jayco added a 360-degree camera to the Anthem and the Cornerstone. In 2021, the company adds the safety tool to Embark, Reatta, Reatta XL, and Aspire models, which also received digital dashes.
“The digital dashes have the speedo and techno meter, but you can flip the screen and have the GPS work on the same digital dash. There is also a third screen (available only on a Spartan chassis) that lets users see views from a 360-degree camera,” Carroll says. “It gives customers such a sense of security to see around the vehicle.”
All Entegra diesels also come equipped with tire pressure monitoring systems and independent front suspension systems, giving the motorhomes a quiet and safe ride.
Users control motorhome features with a digital touchscreen in the motorhome or from an app on their smartphones. With the single push of a button, they can operate shades, lights, and audio and visual equipment.
As COVID-19 draws more families out to camp together, Jayco added bunk models as an option on every luxury diesel product. “We added more sleeping places to our coaches because we know more families are heading out together,” Carroll says.
